A total of 80,218 students appeared in the Class Eight scholarship examination under the Dhaka Board this year, accounting for 91.2 percent of registered candidates. However, 7,731 students, or 8.8 percent, did not sit for the exam.

Board statistics also show that not all participating students took exams in every subject. Only 77,919 students appeared in all subjects, while around 10,030 candidates missed one or more papers.

According to education board sources, Rajshahi Board recorded the second-highest number of examinees after Dhaka, with 43,660 students. Comilla and Dinajpur boards followed closely, with 40,219 and 40,231 examinees respectively, together accounting for over 23 percent of total candidates.

Students in the merit category will receive a one-time annual grant of Tk 560. They will also get a monthly stipend of Tk 450. Students selected for general scholarships will receive Tk 350 annually and Tk 300 per month.

A total of 315,160 students took part in the Junior Scholarship Examination 2025. The exams were held from December 28, 2025, to January 6, 2026. Students sat for five subjects: Bangla (101), English (107), Mathematics (109), Science (127), and Bangladesh and World Identity (150).

Candidates can check their results on the official Education Board websites, including the Dhaka Education Board and the Directorate of Primary Education (dpe.gov.bd). They can also use the mobile SMS service by sending a message to 16222.

Officials said the Junior Scholarship Result will be available online after the formal handover ceremony. Students and guardians are advised to keep their roll numbers ready to avoid delays while checking the result.

The scholarship list is important for thousands of families across Bangladesh. The financial support helps students continue their studies at the secondary level. Further instructions, if any, will be shared by the Education Board after the results go live on Wednesday.
